Forensic Linguistics: 5.5-Hour University Certificate Course

At the Pennsylvania Center for Investigative and Forensic Sciences, a team of criminologists and forensic, behavioral and legal scientists offers professional services for police officers, detectives, district attorneys, coroners, public defenders and others involved in the administration of justice.

The center’s team serves the community by undertaking advanced research and providing real-time investigative consulting and professional training programs.

Consulting Services

The scope of the investigative team’s consulting services is expansive, with special emphasis on:

  • Cold case homicides and missing persons.
  • Wrongful convictions, through the Appalachian Innocence Project.
  • Violent crime analysis.
  • Equivocal death analysis.
  • Threat assessments.
  • Forensic interviews and interrogations.
  • Crime scene reconstruction.

Professional Training

The center offers online courses, several of which are taught by some of the original criminal profilers with the Behavioral Science Unit at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va.

Because the courses are delivered online, they may be taken at any time.
